I am currently in the US on an H1B which is valid until 2011. However, my visa to travel has expired. My attorney filed for the I-485 with application for Advance Parole travel document back in March and I already completed the biometrics. I have booked a flight back to Paris to be with my family......
The key is that if you get married to a US citizen, you need to first apply for adjustment of status based on that marriage. That will eventually give you a Green Card. More importantly, together with the AOS application, you can apply for an EAD, and then you do have a basis to apply for it.......

If she will be trying to re-enter Canada within relatively short period after leaving following full 6 months stay then she should expect shorter admission time to be granted. Officers don't really like people leaving after 6 months just to trying to re-enter and gain admission for another 6......
