Deferred Sentence In King County, Washington (CRIMINAL LAW & PROCEDURE)

The charge was assault 4 (misdemeanor, $500 bail). From what I've read thus far, after completion of the terms of the deferment, (anger management, drug and alcohol, 2 years of inactive probation) "a conviction will not be entered."

I'm applying for an apartment, and when it comes to answering the question of if I've been convicted of a misdemeanor, this definition of a deferred sentence suddenly seems a little vague. I should note that probationary period is not yet over.

The major questions on my mind are...

1: Does this mean that the conviction hasn't been entered yet? That I could still truthfully say that no, I have never been convicted of a misdemeanor?

2: I realize that even after the probationary period, my record will still state the arrest and charge. It seems to me as though that would have the same effect on an employer/landlord/whatever as a conviction would. On top of that, they may consider me to be lying when I state that I have not been convicted. From what I've found, it seems as though the only option for recipients of a deferred sentence is dismissal, however I believe that my case is not eligible for dismissal due to the charge being of a violent nature, correct? Do I have any other options, or am I stuck with those records for life?

3: There were two more charges (Possession of Marijuana in the amount of 60 grams or less, and Possession of a dangerous weapon) that the city did not pursue, as part of the settlement. Will these show up on a background check as well?

4: This is what it really boils down to. How would you recommend I answer that dreaded question of prior conviction? Both now, and after successful deferment.

Sorry about the long post. I'd rather get a good answer right away than have to go back and forth for a page and a half. But hey, I figure if you're used to reading law, this should be nothing, hahaha.
