$ paid after divorce for propert settlement taxable? (Family Law)

My divorce decree gave my exwife our house. She was given 3 years to refinance and after 3 years, she was to pay me the rest of my portion of the equity (to even out the division of assets) She claims that this was filed with the IRS and that I will have to pay tax on it as income. Is this true?
