Family Law: $ into Condo prior to marriage and equity involved

California
In the 8 months prior to marriage I used $40,000 of my own money to fix up my future husband's condo so he could sell it. The sale of the condo and purchase of a new home both closed approximately 18 days after we married. We are currently getting a divorce, through mediation, after 9 years of marriage. My husband is trying to claim all of the equity for his condo ($95,000). I have statements showing the money going out of my account and into a joint account but nothing showing where the money went.
Do I have any sort of claim? It was all the money I had to my name
