• How does "if either one of us gets in the way of the sale of the house then we would be held in contempt" have anything to do with requiring notification before reducing the asking price? "Gets in the way of the sale of the house" is not equal to "does not notify the other party before making any decisions".
  Unless the court ordered the defendent to notify you of all changes related to the selling of the house, there's no contempt.
  In fact, refusing to reduce the price after two months could be considered "getting in the way of the sale of the house". Reducing the asking price is reasonable and plain common sense if no one is willing to make an offer let alone buy it for the original asking price. Haven't you been paying attention to the news lately, all that boring stuff about the housing market and mortgage crisis and home values dropping...?
