Points ? (Immigration Law)

Thu, 26 Feb 2004 23:38:00 GMT

Hi All,

I am a little confused about this points.

Current points
mark is 67, lets say my application has three stages (A,B,C).

A. I
submit my application. (Pass mark is 67 ).

B. I get my AOR (Pass mark
is still 67).

C. My file is now accessed, about a year from when I got
AOR. (Pass mark is now , lets say 70).

Then during stage C, if pass
mark are 67, its fine, BUT if its 70 or more, how will my application
be accesses?, 67 or 70 ????

I hope I have made my question clear.

Thanks,
- Teja.

  • Retroactivity provision has been implemented in new law to allow CIC to
manage immigration program more efficiently. It is about what Canada needs,
not about what potential immigrants want, sorry.

All applicants who are applying now with score not much above current 67
points pass mark should do everything possible to improve their score before
case is assessed - finding an acceptable by HRDC job offer from Canada is
one of the best ways to boost one's score.

time of assessment but also you will have to reach or exceed pass mark that will be in place at the time visa is to be issued. Pass mark at the time of application won't longer matter - if pass mark goes up at any time
before visa is issued then you will have to meet such higher pass mark. What is your recommendation for borderline cases? It sounds like it is
would not be worth applying given the above facts. Sounds like the system is very skewed. Would it not be easier on everyone
to evaluate an application based on the criteria at the time of application? Why is there no common sense being applied to the process?
