Yr Suggestions Needed for New Forum Name (Immigration Law)

Thu, 01 Apr 2004 20:13:00 GMT

I've approached Paul about setting up a new forum on British Expats for
the discussion of those many off topic subjects that are discussed and
which are not visa related, i.e. selling homes, planning weddings in a
limited time frame, announcements of big events such as births. It
would be along the lines of the Lounge and basically for the members
utilizing the US Marriage Based Visa forum here on BE. Paul was
agreeable and it looks like you guys will have a place where you can
discuss issues in your lives that are not related to visa issues.

Of
course, it will not propogate to the Usenet and thus would be primarily
for BE members, although I can transfer Usenet OT posts to that forum
(I'm assuming) and those posts will still be seen and responded to by
Usenet posters. However, the posts from BE members would not be seen on
the Usenet.

But we need a name. Something that indicates that it is
for the USMBV group rather than for a general group like the Lounge is
now. Only have a short time to come up with a name and I would like
your input.

  • Great suggestions !!!!!!!!

One thing, however. The new forum would be
for you guys to chat with each other about issues that stem from your
marriage-based visas but the issues themselves are not about the visa.

In this new forum you would be free to discuss your personal thoughts,
lives, hopes, dreams, ask your questions about driving licenses, taking
the test, how to get a marriage license, where to have a courthouse
wedding, how to plan that big fancy wedding, announcements about births
and deaths, how do you cope, what can you do when you get here, how to
adjust, etc. How you met, how you keep the love alive.

    As Paul pointed
out, all of this is what he set up USA for in the Lifestyles section.
But no one here on BE seems to want to go there and have only discussed
all of the above in the USMVB forum. That is what made me think about
getting a forum set up for you guys.

So it is not about me. It's
about you guys and for you guys. I've been there, done that, and not
going to go through it again.

    I was thinking about:

    Before,
    During & After Marriage-Based Visas
    Description:

    Coping with the
trials and tribulations in your personal life while trying to be with
your US mate. Share your hopes, dreams, fears, joys and questions with
    your fellow travelers
