I signed a lease at the end Of Oct 05 and moved in Dec 1. In Feb I recieved a notice stating that facade work would begin in March and last through most of the year. I have to keep my windows closed and a/c off Mon - Fri from 9-5. Now it isn't quite summer yet but it will be soon and over 90 degrees. How can they legally tell me to suffocate in my apartment all summer. Not to mention how incredibly loud the work is and that we paid an amenities fee to use the sun deck and now it will be closed all year because the construction companies equipment is up there.
My question being is this grounds to termninate our lease because this information was not disclosed to us prior to moving in? The landlord had to have known about it because it is a condo association and bidding and getting permits and approval takes a while, right? I never would have signed a lease here if I had been informed of this.What is the name of your state?
